Gina Rodriguez shreds Rob Gronkowski in an epic rap battle on 'Drop the Mic'

Jane the Virgin turned into Gina the Rapper as Gina Rodriguez went toe-to-toe with New England Patriots’ tight end, Rob Gronkowski, on Drop the Mic Tuesday. The show, which began as a fun segment on The Late Late Show With James Corden, pits celebrities against each other in epic rap battles.

Gina shreds Gronk

In this episode, Gina shredded Gronk with rhymes like, “My flow’s so hot, the whole crowd’s loving it, I spit fire, you look like the caveman who discovered it/This is not a revelation, I’m sure you’ve heard it all, but check your manhood ’cause I just deflated your balls.” After that low blow, Gronk had to respond and, let’s just say, it’s a good thing he doesn’t need his rap skills to pay the bills. “Don’t hold back, Gina, show me what you got, you’re the expert salsa dancer, but I’m making it hot,” Gronk rapped a cappella. The Super Bowl champion continued, “I’m so good at football and important to the game, I won the last Super Bowl and didn’t even play.”

Other than the fact that “game” and “play” don’t rhyme, Gronk’s rapping was a bit jerky and awkward. While Gina, on the other hand, seemed pretty comfortable with a mic in her hand. “I went to NYU in search for better knowledge/University of Arizona? That’s barely a college,” Gina rapped, “You won the Super Bowl, but had teammates for help, I won a Golden Globe, I did that s*** myself.”

In the end, Gina took the title and Gronk was sent back to New England with his tail between his legs.

Drop the Mic airs Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. on TBS.
