Gil Scott-Heron’s I’m New Here Gets Full Album Reimagining by Makaya McCraven

In February 2010, the iconic poet and musician Gil Scott-Heron released his final album I’m New Here. In February 2011, Jamie xx reworked the album as We’re New Here. To honor the album’s 10th anniversary, XL Recordings is releasing We’re New Again—a reimagining from Chicago jazz musician and producer Makaya McCraven. It’s out February 7, 2020. Find the tracklist below.

Last year, Makaya McCraven released Where We Come From (CHICAGOxLONDON Mixtape) and his standout album Universal Beings. This past October, his debut In the Moment got a deluxe reissue.
