Gigi Hadid Marks Zayn Malik’s First Father’s Day With Rare Photo of Him and Khai
Today is Zayn Malik’s first Father’s Day, and Gigi Hadid is celebrating baby Khai’s “baba.”
“Our Khai is so lucky to have a baba who loves her so much & does anything to see her smile !! @zayn Happy first Father’s Day.. I’m so grateful for all the lil bits of her that are you ☺️ We love you so much.”
She also wished a Happy Father’s Day to her dad, Mohamed Hadid:
“Happy Fathers Day my daddio @mohamedhadid I love you so much and have loved watching you be the sweetest Jido to Khai ! 🤍,” she wrote, referencing the name meaning “grandfather.”
Hadid rarely posts photos of Malik on her Instagram grid, but on Valentine’s Day, she shared a sweet photo of the two of them when they were expecting Khai.
“I love you, Valentine && love the Valentine we get to share forever 👼🏼,” she wrote then.

For the summer cover story for i-D, Osman Ahmed asked Hadid about “how you’re approaching parenthood. So much of it is instinctive, but I find with raising a mixed-race child, lots of it is actively thinking about how to address that.”
She responded:
“We [Zayn and me] think about it and talk about it a lot as partners and it’s something that’s really important to us, but it’s also something that we first experienced ourselves,” she said. “Because both of our parents are their own heritage. We are that first generation of those mixed races, and then that comes with that first generational experience of being like, ‘Oh damn, I’m the bridge!’. That’s not something that my parents experienced or that they can really help me through. It’s something I’ve always thought about my whole life.”
