A TikTok influencer recently helped local families for the holidays.

Heather Savage, a Cincinnati native who is also known as "Savage Mom Life" on TikTok, donated $10,500 in gifts to Mount Healthy schools Tuesday. Every student in grades first through sixth selected an item for themselves and a loved one at the event. Teachers also received a surprise gift.

Savage, a Mount Healthy alum with over 5 million followers, said it was easy giving back to the school district that had a significant impact on her childhood.

"There is something different about Mount Healthy. There was something different when we went there. It was diverse. ... Like it was a giant family, no matter who you were," Savage told The Enquirer. "It was super easy for me to wanna give back to a place that shaped and molded who I was and am."

Approximately 1,300 children participated in Tuesday's event, and 2,700 gifts were distributed, all hand-picked by Savage. She said one generous unnamed follower provided most of the funds.

"So, I get on my live, we're collecting donations ... and someone dropped a $10,000 donation. He was like, 'I can get behind this,'" she explained.

The Santa’s workshop-type idea was inspired by a similar event Savage attended as a child. Her experience growing up in a working-class family and being a single mother motivated her to give back to other parents and guardians.

"I really didn't even care that they knew whether it came from me. I wanted it to come from their kid to them, and they would know 'some random person was kind enough to think of me,'" she said.

The influencer, known for comedic reaction videos and viral dances, also hosted a live fundraiser for kids in need through a partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation in November.
