Ghosts Promo: U.S. and UK Spirits Unite for ‘Spectral Relationship’ on CBS (Exclusive)

CBS is giving Ghosts fans a double dose of spirits this fall, and TVLine has an exclusive promo celebrating “the spectral relationship” between the American and British shows.

Beginning Nov. 16, the Eye network will air repeats of Ghosts at 8:30/7:30c, followed by two back-to-back episodes (at 9 pm) of the original BBC One comedy on which the Stateside iteration is based. As you can see in the above video, the two series share many similarities (like a guy with no pants), but each also has its own local flair when it comes to the cast of non-livings.

In Ghosts UK — which is making its broadcast debut in the U.S. — “crumbling country mansion Button House is home to restless spirits who have died there over the centuries,” reads the official synopsis. “Each a product of their time, they’re thrown together for eternity, resigned to squabble over mundane daily gripes. But their lives — or rather afterlives — are thrown into turmoil when a young urban couple, Alison (YOU’s Charlotte Ritchie) and Mike (Kiell Smith-Bynoe), unexpectedly inherit the peaceful derelict house and plan to turn it into a bustling hotel. As the ghosts attempt to oust the newcomers, and Alison and Mike discover the true scale of the project they’ve taken on, fate conspires to trap both sides in an impossible house share. Cue all kinds of comedy chaos, with every day truly a matter of life and death.”

Stars Mathew Baynton (Romantic poet Thomas Thorne), Simon Farnaby (disgraced MP Julian Fawcett), Martha Howe-Douglas (lady of the manor Fanny Button), Jim Howick (scout leader Pat Butcher), Laurence Rickard (caveman Robin) and Ben Willbond (WWII Captain) pull double duty as co-creators. The ensemble also includes Lolly Adefop (excitable noblewoman Kitty) and Katy Wix (witch trial victim Mary).

The British Ghosts will also be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
