Ghostface Killah will release his memoir next year. According to Macmillan Publishers’ site, Rise of a Killah will be released on May 14, 2024, by St. Martin’s Press.

The memoir is described as “both visual record and a real-feel narrative of a performer’s life.” It will trace the Wu-Tang Clan founder’s story from his upbringing in Staten Island to his success with his legendary hip-hop crew.

This is not the rapper’s first foray into publishing: he worked on the comic book series Twelve Reasons to Die and released a pair of albums based on the crime series as well. In 2007, he published The World According to Pretty Toney, an irreverent guidebook based on one of his musical personas.

Ghostface is the latest member of Wu-Tang to get personal and share his story in the form of a memoir. In 2021, Raekwon released the critically acclaimed From Staircase to Stage: The Story of Raekwon and the Wu-Tang Clan. And in 2018, U-God dropped Raw: My Journey Into the Wu-Tang Clan. RZA published a pair of philosophical books based on Wu’s virtues.

All nine living members also participated in the 2019 Showtime documentary Wu-Tang: Of Mics and Men. The four-episode docuseries commemorated the group’s 25th anniversary and offered an in-depth look at their formation and career.
