It’s about that time to call on the Ghostbusters unit to fight the underworld of the paranormal. The 2016-reboot of the classic film, which debuted 32 years ago, will return to the silver screen with an updated cast, but still the same premise of saving the world from the unknown.
Starring Leslie Jones, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and Kate McKinnon, the four leading ladies are on a quest to figure out who is responsible for creating these ghosts and ghouls. But this time, the transparent figures can take hold of a human’s body and walk amongst the living without a clue, making the job a little bit tougher for the dynamic group.
On the subject of incorporating the infamous slime into the first few scenes of the movie, director Paul Feig told USA TODAY that it was meant to pay homage to the 1984 classic. “We wanted to plant a flag early,” he said. “People don’t know what this movie is. It’s a whole different team. But it’s kind of fun leading off with something iconic from the original.”
