Ghostbusters Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson Face a 'Tall, Dark and Horny' Monster in “Frozen Empire ”Trailer

Bill Murray and his original Ghostbusters costars are back to ghost-busting.

A new trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire debuted Monday, throwing it back to the 1984 original film and continuing the story of the Spengler family, carrying the torch for late actor Harold Ramis' Dr. Egon Spengler.

Murray, 73, reprises his role as Dr. Peter Venkman, alongside costars Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts.

At one point in the trailer, Murray (who also worked with Rudd in last year's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) and the team take on a giant paranormal creature with horns, and he jokes, "Heads up: Tall, dark and horny at 12 o'clock."

A sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the new film, directed by Gil Kenan, also stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Celeste O’Connor and Logan Kim.

According to a synopsis, "the Spengler family returns to where it all started — the iconic New York City firehouse — to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level."

"But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age."

Afterlife, set in Oklahoma, was the first film in the Ghostbusters franchise to take place outside of the Big Apple. In that one, Grace and Wolfhard play the grandchildren of Ramis' Egon, while Coon is Egon's daughter Callie. Rudd plays the kids' science teacher and Ghostbusters fan Gary Grooberson.

Aykroyd, 71, told Newsweek that Frozen Empire is unlike the scale of the previous films.

"We've never done this to Manhattan before," he said. "There's a historical base to it that's quite beautiful. We took full advantage of CGI technology but we also, where we could, kept old-school effects alive."

The actor said they handle serious subject matter "more emotionally." He added, "All that, along with some great scares and effects. It's really going to work."

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is in theaters March 22.
