Goldberg's opening remarks were interrupted by a mysterious presence. "God, is that you?" cohost Sara Haines asked.

Whoopi Goldberg, you in danger, girl.

A mysterious entity made its presence known to the Ghost actress Tuesday morning, as the 68-year-old made her opening remarks on a live episode of The Viewuntil a force of unknown origin interrupted her.

"Have a seat everybody, we'll tell you what's been going on," Goldberg said at the top of the show, going on to speak about President Joe Biden's recent visit to the Mother Emanuel AME Church in South Carolina, where a mass shooting occurred in 2015.

Mid-sentence, an echoey sound appeared to startle Goldberg, and she looked toward the studio ceiling, pausing her introduction to stare up toward the rafters as the audience laughed.

"God, is that you?" cohost Sara Haines quipped as she, too, turned her eyes to the airspace hovering above the Hot Topics table.

"Okay," Goldberg said, her eyes darting from side to side as she processed what just happened. Still reeling from whatever she just experienced, Goldberg laughed as she attempted to collect herself.

"Roll it back," Goldberg said, looking toward the camera before continuing with the segment, one day after another mystery noise clapped through the set during a discussion about "hoes."

So, what was the invasive spectre haunting The View set? The spirit of Sam Wheat visiting his old friend? Pope Francis returning the favor with a swarm of bees? Taraji P. Henson's lingering voice wafting out from backstage, months later?

"For those wondering - 'the echo' at the start of the show was an issue with the audio board," The View producer Brian Teta later explained on social media. "Move along - nothing to see here!"

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
