In 2019, Geri Halliwell apologized to her fellow Spice Girls for quitting the group back in 1998. Now, she's chalking that sentiment up to the spice of an impassioned moment.

Halliwell — also known as Ginger Spice — memorably apologized to bandmates Mel B, Mel C, and Emma Bunton (Victoria Beckham did not embark on the concert series) on stage four years ago during their revival tour, saying she was "just being a brat" back when she initially left the group. Now, in a recent interview with Scary Mommy, the singer appeared to dismiss the moment altogether.

"I think we were just being dramatic for the stage drama," Halliwell told the publication, with the outlet indicating that she waved "her hand in a move-along gesture" when asked about her apology.

She stressed that the ladies still see each other, including in November 2022, when they reunited for Halliwell's 50th birthday.

In 2019, as the group took the stage at London's Wembley Stadium, Halliwell admitted that her apology for quitting the group at the height of worldwide success was long overdue.

"You know what, it finally occurred to me this afternoon, and I need to say something very, very important that I should've said a long time ago," she said as the group embraced her. "I'm sorry. I was just being a brat, and I want to say that it's just so good to be back with the girls that I love and with you."

Representatives for Halliwell did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.
