Geri Halliwell-Horner Says Her Kids Are Unimpressed with Spice Girls Stardom: They Think It's 'Vintage Cool'

Geri Halliwell-Horner may be Ginger Spice to the world, but her kids are unimpressed with her alter-ego.
While speaking to Scary Mommy to promote her new fantasy novel Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen, the musician, 51, shared that her two kids, daughter Bluebell, 17, and son Monty, 6, don't quite understand her Spice Girls legacy.
"She thinks it's sort of vintage cool — vintage '90s are back," Halliwell-Horner says of her teenage daughter. "Sometimes when her friends come around I go to her like, 'But I'm a cool mom! I'm a cool mom!' It's classic Mean Girls."

However, Halliwell-Horner teases that her son sees a level of drama in his mom, sharing an anecdote of when he came back from school with a cast on. "I went to him, 'What's happened?' And his words were, 'I'm not going to tell you.' I said, 'Why not?' He goes, 'Because you'll be dramatic.' He's 6!"
Halliwell-Horner also reflects on her approach to step-parenting as stepmom to husband Christian Horner's 9-year-old daughter Olivia. “It’s respectfully just allowing an organic process to happen, for the relationships to build and respect everybody’s differences,” she says.
“It’s not perfect — that’s really important to say — but I’ve got a nice husband. I always say he’s a Jimmy Stewart or a Tom Hanks. He’s not perfect, but he’s nice.”

“It’s funny, we’re ingrained with certain stories, aren’t we?" she continues. "In fairy tales, there’s a stepmom that’s always [evil]… She needs a rebrand, doesn’t she?”
The singer often posts photos of her kids on her Instagram, recently sharing a few sweet shots from a mother-son outing at the beach. Sharing a photo of herself and son Monty, Halliwell-Horner smiled for the camera while the two played in the sand.
"A day at the beach ! Just heaven Uk sunshine ☀️," she captioned the photo.
She also shared a photo of daughter Bluebell in July with her husband as they attended the Belgium F1 races. The two wore matching jackets and leaned in together for the picture. "So proud of you 😍 History making moment!" she wrote in her caption. "@christianhorner & Bluebell working hard ⭐️!"
