[Gerard Butler]( has sued a woman over a serious motorcycle accident, where he says it was so bad, he is lucky to be alive.
According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Butler claims he was riding his motorcycle in Los Angeles where he was struck my a woman who allegedly cut him off.
He claims, in the suit, the woman was in a 2016 Mercedes Benz, attempted to cut across lanes and while doing it crashed into him.
"The impact caused (Butler) to be ejected form his motorcycle and tumble up over her vehicle and back onto the pavement."
According to reports, someone called 911 from the scene, and Butler was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.
Following the accident, the actor told People, “I’m lucky to be here. I went 33 feet through the air."
He continued, “I did a somersault," and he says he had “five fractures in my right foot alone, because I landed right on my knees, so I’ve done my knees in and my left foot. And this had been the busiest period of my career.”
The action star says he was so bad off, and says “I was in bed for four days. I couldn’t get out of bed.”
The same week as the accident Bulter's new film"Geostorm," was released, and he was forced to promote it while injured.
Gerard is suing for "negligence" on the part of the other driver, no word on exactly how much he is asking for in damages.
