Georgia moves up to No. 5 in AP poll after thrashing Tennessee

There’s a new No. 5 in the post-Week 5 AP poll.

After shutting out Tennessee on the road, Georgia jumped up to No. 5 behind Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma and Penn State. Washington, which beat Oregon State, stayed at No. 6. Georgia was No. 7 last week.

The Bulldogs take the place of USC in the top five. The Trojans lost Friday night to Washington State and fell all the way to No. 14. Washington State, meanwhile, moved up four spots to No. 12.

The poll has a tie this week at No. 21. Florida and Notre Dame each have 349 votes.

NC State entered the poll at No. 24 and Central Florida makes an appearance at No. 25. They replace Mississippi State and LSU. Both SEC teams lost on Saturday.
