Recently, Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin shared a very important announcement (and no, it wasn't that the next book is coming out). He and his wife went to go see Barbie!
It seems that George, like the rest of us, couldn't resist Barbieposting, and shared the below photo. George, you look amazing.
I went to see Barbie with my lovely wife; she said pink is my color. #imkenough pic.twitter.com/4E0LJMQpmC

And the pink + black is making me think he caught a double feature 😈!
A lot of people were leaving nice compliments...
I'm legitimately glad you had a good time at the cinema with your wife, Mr. Martin! 💜💜💜

...but fans were also poking fun about how The Winds of Winter, Martin's next installment in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, is YEARS overdue. (I mean, the last book came out over 12 years ago — George, c'mon!)

It must’ve been nice to watch how the story concluded. Can’t relate

Weird, I also just talked to your wife and she said you need to finish the next book. https://t.co/WKwYKUSlEC

And somebody brought this up again. Should we be following up on that?

Other people find the barrage of "when will you write the book" tweets a bit, well, annoying.
"Finish this" "finish that" Let the man enjoy his movie, God

He's not "not writing his book," he's actually just "committing to the bit."
