George Lopez Reunion: Lopez vs. Lopez Brings ABC Sitcom Cast Back Together for Christmas — Get Airdate

NBC has released photos from Lopez vs. Lopez‘s Christmas episode, which see series star George Lopez reunited with the cast of his original self-titled sitcom, which aired for six seasons (and 120 episodes) on ABC, between 2002 and 2007.

Gathered around the family table are Constance Marie (who played George’s wife Angie), Valente Rodriguez (Ernie), Luis Armand Garcia (Max) and Belita Moreno (Benny). They’re joined by Lopez’s current TV family, which consists of real-life daughter Mayan Lopez, Selenis Leyva, Brice Gonzalez, Matt Shively and Al Madrigal.

Not present for the George Lopez reunion are Masiela Lusha (who played George and Angie’s daughter Carmen), Aimee Garcia (aka Veronica) and Emiliano Díez (Angie’s father Vic).

The episode, titled “Lopez vs. Christmas,” airs Friday, Dec. 16 at 8/7c on NBC.

The George Lopez reunion comes almost 21 years after the launch of the ABC comedy, which revolved around George, the manager of an airline parts factory, raising two kids — Max and Carmen — with his wife Angie. George frequently butted heads with his chain-smoking, alcoholic mother Benny, who raised him as a single mom after his father walked out on them. The series went on to find even greater success after it ended, thanks to a syndication deal with Nick at Nite.

The cast previously reunited 13 years ago, on an episode of Lopez’s TBS late-night series Lopez Tonight:

Lopez vs. Lopez, which premiered Nov. 4 on NBC, tells the story of a working-class old-school Latino who moves in with his modern Gen Z daughter as they rebuild their dysfunctional relationship one argument at a time. New episodes resume Friday, Dec. 2.
