George Clooney on the royal baby: 'The kid stole my thunder'

George Clooney stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday night where he talked about his friendship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The royal couple welcomed a baby boy Monday morning. While Clooney’s happy for the couple, he’s just a little bit mad about the timing of the royal baby’s arrival on his birthday. “The kid stole my thunder,” Clooney said. Clooney has been a longtime friend to Prince Harry and Meghan. He and his wife Amal Clooney went to Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding last April, and there’s even a rumor that Clooney will be the royal baby’s godfather. However, he quickly shot down the rumor when Jimmy asked. “That would be a bad idea,” Clooney said. “What would that -- I shouldn't be the god -- I'm the father of twins. I can barely do that.” The royal baby wasn’t the only kid to steal Clooney’s birthday thunder. George and Amal welcomed twins, Ella and Alexander, back in June 2017. He told Jimmy that his daughter Ella kicked him out of his own bed the morning of his birthday. “And she spreads out, and you're literally laying like this on the bed, in the corner, hanging off,” Clooney explained. “Then I realize, that's no good. So I covered all around the bed with pillows. In case she falls off. And I went and slept in her nursery.”
