“Table for George Clooney.” Dakota Johnson used George Clooney’s name to make restaurant reservations as a teen, and, of course, the actor had a priceless reaction when he learned the news. The Fifty Shades of Grey star — who is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson — told the hilarious Clooney story on a recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

“I heard this rumor that you used to make reservations at a dinner restaurant under a famous person’s name. You used to call up and say you have a table for George Clooney. Why?” Fallon asked Johnson, to which she responded: “”Because I wanted to go to good restaurants in high school. It works every time. Try it.”

Johnson — who said that she doesn’t personally know Clooney — was then asked by Fallon about what happens when Clooney never shows up to dinner. Johnson’s solution? She’d tell the staff: “Oh, he’s going to join us later.”

However, the trick didn’t go unexposed forever. After meeting Clooney for the first time a couple years ago, Johnson’s jig was up — but of course, like cool Hollywood guy we know Clooney to be, the Catch 22 actor was totally fine with Johnson’s sly behavior.

“We were traveling to the Toronto Film Festival and we happened to be on the same plane and I was like, ‘Hey, I’m Dakota,'” Johnson recalled. “And he was like, ‘Oh I’ve heard of you. I know what you do.'” She added: “He was like, ‘You call and use my name. It’s OK.'”

As for if she still uses Clooney’s name to make restaurant reservations, the Suspiria actor confirmed that she does. She first talked about the Clooney trick in a 2015 interview with The Telegraph. “I’ve never even met him,” she said. “But he eats a lot of meals: George Clooney is the hungriest man in Hollywood.”
