George Clooney's Going All In On Streaming

Even movie stars are going all in on streaming services lately, and George Clooney is no different. After serving as the executive producer, director, and actor in Hulu's Catch-22, Clooney is already eyeing his next project.

A New Netflix Film

According to EW, Clooney will be adapting the postapocalyptic novel Good Morning, Midnight. Clooney will star in and direct the film. Clooney will play Augustine, "a lonely scientist in the Arctic, as he races to make contact with the crew of the Aether spacecraft as they try to return home to Earth." Clooney will also be producing the project with his creative partner Grant Heslov.

An Exciting Project

Mark L. Smith, the writer of The Revenant and Overlord, wrote the screenplay and filming will start in October.

Clooney released a statement expressing his excitement over the new project.

"Grant and I couldn’t be more excited to be involved with this incredible project. Mark is a writer we’ve long admired and his script is haunting. We’re thrilled to be working with our friends at Netflix as well.

Bring It On!

Scott Stuber, head of Netflix’s film division, is thrilled that the project is moving forward.

"Having known and worked with George for over two decades, I can’t think of anyone better to bring this amazing story to life. The book is powerful and moving, and Mark’s adaptation is beautifully written. At its core, this is a story about human nature, and one that I know our global audiences will fall in love with, just like I did when I read it."
