George Clooney is crossing Broadway off his list.

The Oscar winner, 63, will make his Broadway debut in the new play Good Night, and Good Luck slated for spring 2025 in New York City, it was announced May 13.

Tony-winner David Cromer will direct the play, co-written by Clooney and Grant Heslov, based on their 2005 film of the same name, which Clooney also directed.

In that movie, Clooney played Fred Friendly and costar David Strathairn starred as iconic broadcast news journalist Edward R. Murrow. In the stage play, Clooney will portray Murrow, who died in 1965.

Clooney said in a statement, "I am honored, after all these years, to be coming back to the stage and especially to Broadway, the art form and the venue that every actor aspires to."

Added Cromer, “Edward R. Murrow operated from a kind of moral clarity that feels vanishingly rare in today’s media landscape. There was an immediacy in those early live television broadcasts that today can only be effectively captured on stage, in front of a live audience."

The Good Night, and Good Luck movie's cast also included Jeff Daniels, Alex Borstein, Patricia Clarkson, Robert Downey Jr. and more.

The Broadway show's producers include Seaview, Sue Wagner, John Johnson, Jean Doumanian and Robert Fox. The play will be housed at a Shubert theater that is yet to be announced.
