Many celebrities have been outspoken about the thousands of immigrant children being separated from their parents and being placed in detention centers. From reaching out to their millions of followers on social media to take action, Hollywood has not been shy about taking a stance on Trump's immigration ban.
Today, George Clooney confirmed in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE that he and Amal have donated $100,000 from the Clooney Foundation for Justice to the Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights. The human rights organization has been fighting for migrant children separated from their families at the border.
“At some point in the future our children will ask us: ‘Is it true, did our country really take babies from their parents and put them in detention centers?’ And when we answer yes, they’ll ask us what we did about it. What we said. Where we stood,” the Clooneys said to PEOPLE. “We can’t change this administration’s policy but we can help defend the victims of it.”
Geroge and Amal Clooney are no stranger to big donations when it comes to worldly causes. Back in February, the pair donated $500,000 to the students of Stoneman Douglas High School to help them organize the March For Our Lives.
