Despite George Clooney being a Hollywood staple for decades, he and his wife Amal Clooney are seemingly ready to ditch Hollywood for good, all for the sake of their children. And instead of raising their kids in Hollywood, or even the US, they want to raise them primarily in France.

In case you need a refresher, George and Amal bought an $8 million, 18th-century property in Domaine du Canadel, France, but it’s only recently become their primary residence. And now, especially since their kids are six years old, they’re thinking about their kids’ futures.

“Now that the kids are school-aged, Amal and George are thinking very seriously about where they want them to grow up,” an insider said to InTouch Weekly. “As much as they both love big cities like Los Angeles and London, they feel that a smaller town offers a lot more for their kids, especially when it comes to privacy. They really feel France is where they want to raise their kids.”

So, while it seems they still have their homes around the world, it’s more or less official to them that their kids will go to school and be raised in France.

For those that don’t know, George and Amal Alamuddin, a prominent human rights lawyer, met back in 2013 through a mutual friend, and by the following year, they married! They later welcomed twins on June 6, 2017, named Ella and Alexander, 6.

Insiders first told the outlet about this potential development in Feb 2024.

“George and Amal are thrilled with their decision to relocate to France. It’s a beautiful setting and completely private, which is what the Clooneys were looking for. It’s a fresh start for their family,” the insider claimed. “[Amal] was quite adamant about the move and had been suggesting it for years. She felt their home on Lake Como [in Italy] was too exposed, and she didn’t want the children going to school in L.A. or England.”

These celebrity parents are on double duty!
