The trailer opens by depicting the first and only meeting between the two men during a 1964 Senate debate in Washington, D.C., greeting one another as “Reverend” and “Minister.”

Two episodes will premiere weekly beginning Feb. 1 on National Geographic at 9:00 p.m. ET and available to stream on both Hulu and Disney + the following day. Additionally, the first episode of the new season titled “Graduation” is set to simulcast on ABC Feb. 1 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

The docu-drama offers insight into the varying aspects of each man’s quest, focusing on King’s goal to advance racial equality through nonviolent activism, and X’s advocacy for Black empowerment, identity, and self-determination.
