Genie Bouchard texted her dad about her 'Sports Illustrated' swimsuit photos

For the second straight year, Tennis pro Genie Bouchard will be featured as part of the “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit” edition. She announced the news on her Twitter page Tuesday.

Shortly after some of her photos from the shoot came out, Bouchard texted her dad to see how he was handling everything. He responded with an encouraging message.

Bouchard’s text doesn’t include her original message, but her dad responded by saying: “You know its [sic] a bit strange for a dad to see his daughter half clad in a magazine. But its [sic] done so tastefully. I’m proud of you. Well done!” She seemed relieved, as her tweet reads” Sooo Dad approves … thank god.”

Bouchard was also featured in the issue last year. This time around, she’ll be joined by one of her opponents, Sloane Stephens. Olympic gold-medalist Aly Raisman will also appear in the magazine.
