Geneva Festival on the Rivers kicking off tonight

GENEVA, Ala (WDHN) — The 47th Annual Festival on the Rivers is finally here!

The weekend starts on Friday, April 26, with a 3:30 p.m. parade through the city of two rivers and ends with a ribbon cutting at the festival gate.

At 6:00 p.m., the cornhole tournament starts with live entertainment from Hartford-based music group, The Band Britain. The Otha + Kristi Band goes on at 8:15 p.m.

The festival kicks into full gear on Saturday, April 27. Gates open at 8:00 a.m., followed by a full day of activities:

  • 9:05 a.m.- Worm Fiddlin’ and Pickup

  • 10:05 a.m.- Coin Scramble

  • 10:20 a.m.- Tug-O-War

  • 12:30 p.m.- Opening Ceremony/Introduction of queens

  • 1:00 p.m.- Performance of Hartford Harmonies

  • 1:45 p.m.- Performance of Kiera Howell and Amelia Langham

  • 3:30 p.m.- Performance of Brant McCollough

  • 4:15 p.m.- Performance of Sadie Bass

  • 5:30 p.m.- Performance of Walker Montgomery

  • 7:00 p.m.- Performance of Colin Stough

  • *Free kid zone from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Tickets on Saturday are $15.00 for adults and $8 for students and children.

On Sunday, gates open at noon, followed by the 1st Smoke on the Water BBQ Competition. The opening ceremony will occur at 1:00 p.m., followed by performances of Bryson Story at 1:15 p.m. and Soul Vacation at 3:00 p.m.

Sunday, there will be a free kids’ zone from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
