General Hospital is gearing up to say goodbye to one of its own.

According to PEOPLE, viewers of the long-running daytime soap will learn Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) has died during episodes aired in the first week of the new year, with two episodes dated for Jan. 10 and 11 specifically slated to feature the town of Port Charles coming together to memorialize the character and the actress who played her.

Zeman, a five-time Daytime Emmy-nominee, had played Bobbie for more than 40 years at the time of her death in May at age 70 after a brief battle with cancer.

Per the report, the memorial episodes are "filled with twists and feature lots of surprises that make the most of the show’s history." Characters of past and present that had connections to Bobbie are all making appearances, including Felicia (Kristina Wagner), Maxie (Kirsten Storms), Laura (Genie Francis), Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Scott (Kin Shriner), Carly (Laura Wright), Anna (Finola Hughes), Lucy (Lynn Herring), and Lucas (Ryan Carnes).

“When we shot the memorial, the entire cast was there. And it wasn't just for Bobbie; it was for Jackie as well,” Wright told the outlet. “I mean, walking on set and seeing her photo, seeing all the pamphlets of like when you come to a memorial or a celebration of life, the pamphlet speaking about the individual and who is going to speak, it was bittersweet. It was about Jackie and everyone was so present. … It was like we as a cast got to really say goodbye.”

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
