This Gem of Tampa Bay is a groovy arts and live music venue

GULFPORT, Fla. (WFLA) — Jam your heart out at this funky Gem of Tampa Bay!

The Blueberry Patch is a unique arts center that was founded on July 7, 1977, by Dallas Bohrer, who passed away in 2014.

This gem is home to the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright designs in the world

“Our goal is to just keep Dallas, his dream alive, which is a place where people can gather, and do art and music and literature in a safe space, and be themselves and create,” Sharevival Vice President Bob Feckner said.

Sharevival is a non-profit organization that runs The Blueberry Patch and helps bring in live music to the art center.

“It’s just a very welcoming place and we welcome everybody,” Feckner said. “To create community, create art, create music, literature.”

Open mic nights, jam sessions and live bands are scheduled multiple times during the month.

“If you are an artist, come on a Saturday volunteer day and you can create art. We want everybody to be a part of it,” Feckner said.

Inside this gem, visitors will see pieces of art every way they turn, from disco balls, murals and even an old Volkswagen Beetle.

“When people come in for the first time, really just check the whole place out because I have been coming here for 22 years and I miss stuff,” Feckner said.

The Blueberry Patch is an 18+ venue and hosts events every 1st, 7th, 11th and 22nd of the month.
