New gelato and coffee shop opens in Rahway

A café combining everything from gelato sandwiches to cold brew coffee recently opened on the ground floor of The Mint, a new rental building in downtown Rahway.

The 1,300-square-foot shop also offers other items such as gelato, locally-roasted coffee and cappuccino from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Bakery items will soon be added to the menu.

Terra Guaba, a nutritionist and resident of The Mint, opened Wholly Cow at 1542 Main St.

“What [Rahway] lacked was an inviting establishment that was open late and where neighbors could join and socialize,” said Guaba in a release. “… Wholly Cow has become a reality, fulfilling a dream to open a café that would bring people together and have delicious food options.”

The Mint includes 109 residences featuring plank flooring, nine-foot ceilings, in-home washers and dryers, quartz kitchen countertops, and full-height tiled bath walls.

Amenities include a game room, co-working spaces, a lounge, rooftop terrace, fitness center, pet spa, pool, barbecue and dining areas, and private garage parking. Prices start at $2,040 for a studio apartment.
