Gayle King Sees Green in Metallic Pointy Pumps at CMT Awards 2024

Gayle King continued her metallic shoe style streak while attending the 2024 CMT Music Awards on Sunday in Austin. The “CBS Morning” co-host updated the footwear trend with a pair of reflective green pumps.

King wore a similar metallic style, but in silver, in January while attending the 2024 Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles. Her shoes, like the ones she wore on Sunday, featured pointed toes and a short heel slightly elevating her look by at least 2 inches.

Metallic Shoe Trend

Metallic shoes started taking over fashion in 2022 and remained popular through 2024. Due to their neutral aesthetic, metallic footwear can add a sophisticated and modern touch to different outfits. The trend was embraced by Bottega Veneta, Prada, Manolo Blahnik, Gucci, Christian Louboutin and other luxury fashion houses.

This year, Amal Clooney, Selena Gomez, Elizabeth Hurley, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and other celebrities have been seen on red carpets in metallic footwear.

Gayle King’s Shoe Style

Besides participating in the metallic shoe trend, King is also known for her colorful footwear style. On April 4, she attended the Museum of Modern Arts’ 2024 Black Arts Council Benefit in purple suede pumps. She has also been seen in glittery Miu Miu sneakers at the F1 Academy Series race track in October.

King was one of the presenters at the 2024 CMT Music Awards. The fan-voted country music awards show, held at the Moody Center in Austin on Sunday, brought Kelsea Ballerini as a host for its fourth consecutive year. Performers scheduled to take the stage include Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Sugarland and more.
