"It all started as a joke in 2017 where I was making fun of Mekenzye and now it’s turned into a thing,” the anchor wrote in her Instagram caption
Gayle King is keeping her unconventional Thanksgiving traditions going.
The CBS Mornings anchor and her niece, Mekenzye Schwab, continued their "Thanksgiving photo shoot" tradition for a sixth year on Instagram.
“Back by popular demand: Our annual Thanksgiving swimsuit photo shoot with fav niece @mknzschwb," King captioned the post published Monday. "It all started as a joke in 2017 where I was making fun of Mekenzye and now it’s turned into a thing."
The journalist, 68, joined her niece in Cancun, Mexico, where they posed in glamorous bathing suits. In the first photo, they are seen wearing yellow one-piece bathing suits and standing on a hidden beach path.
The remaining photos in King’s carousel included side-by-side shots of the two, including another shot of the two posing in the yellow swimsuits on the sand pathway.
King also included shots of her and Schwab posing in black and white bathing suits on the staircase of a boat.
King shared a photo of herself in a one-shoulder halter one piece that had stripes of white, bright red and salmon pink. She mimicked Schwab's poolside lounging pose, even brushing her fingers into her hair just like her niece. Schwab wore a multi-colored paisley bikini in her lounging photo.
In one funny shot, King shared close-ups of the two women’s backsides. King wore another colorful one-piece as she posed in a pear green suit, while Schwab posed in a ruched orange bikini.
The final slide included steamy photos of King and Schwab under their showers, with water pouring down their faces.

Schwab shared the same photos on her Instagram page, as well as a couple of shots of King and herself lounging and walking alongside the boat.
“Can I at least get a consolation prize for attempting to keep up with my aunt?” Schwab captioned her post.
