Gas prices generally fall in Texas but jump in some metro areas; Abilene at $3.14
AAA on Thursday reported that the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Texas now is $3.18, dropping from $3.21 last week. However, the price was 1 cent higher on the average than Wednesday. The prices in Abilene held steady at $3.14 a gallon, with $2.97 the lowest price we saw and $3.39 the highest.
The price did shoot up in Amarillo, from $3.14 to $3.35, and went up in Fort Worth-Dallas area as well.
The nationwide average continues to fall, too, from $3.751 per gallon a week ago to $3.698.
