Gary Shore To Direct ‘The Great Game’ For Cross Creek
Gary Shore will direct The Great Game, Cross Creek’s historical epic about the illustrious Nobel family. Written by two-time Blacklist honoree Bryan McMullin, the original screenplay is about a young Emanuel Nobel who is longing for excitement in the shadow of a family of genius inventors. It also delves into his heated romance with a mysterious ballerina. The story is set during the Baku oil rush at the turn of the century where oil barons lawlessly engage in games of deceit, espionage, and murder to build oil empires.
Cross Creek is the company behind such films Darron Aronofksy’s Black Swan, George Clooney’s The Ides of March as well as also one of the companies that brought Mel Gibson’s Oscar hopeful Hacksaw Ridge to the big screen.
Cross Creek’s Brian Oliver and Jason Seagraves are producing as well as Maurice Fadida, who brought the project to Cross Creek Pictures. The producers are closely collaborating with the Nobel family, renowned for the prestigious Nobel Prize, and its global partners on the project.
Shore, who made his feature film debut with Dracula Untold, is repped by WME and 42. McMullin is repped by UTA and Kaplan/Perrone.
