Garcelle Beauvais Has a Big Update on Her Quest for Her First Birkin Bag

During the June 29 episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Garcelle Beauvais had a lavish birthday party complete with stunning flowers (courtesy of Diana Jenkins), spicy margaritas (for Erika Jayne), and a lifelike Birkin cake that looked almost too good to eat (from Kathy Hilton).
In the episode, the birthday girl declared that the delectable sweet treat (which clocked in at $500) was “the closest [she’ll] get to [having] a Birkin.” The gorgeous green cake had all the features of a real Hermès bag, including a shiny silver lock closure, folded leather flap, and rolled handles.
Garcelle went on to explain in an interview, “I can’t wrap my head around spending that much money on a bag.” (As noted in the episode, Birkins can range anywhere from around $8,500 to $2 million.) She added, “So if I have the cake, maybe somebody will buy me the bag. Mama needs a Birkin!”
The night the RHOBH episode aired, the model stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. The titular host, on behalf of a viewer, asked Garcelle for an update on whether anyone had bought her one of the coveted purses yet.
As it turns out, someone had. “I actually got myself a Birkin,” Garcelle revealed. “But can I tell you, I left it on my dining room table for two days because I thought if I brought it up to my closet, then that means I owned it. I told my kids not to touch it, and it just sat there.”
