After ‘Game of Thrones,’ Maisie Williams ditches fantasy for a ‘hyper real’ horror film

After spending much of her onscreen childhood in the dangerous, magical world of Westeros on “Game of Thrones,” Maisie Williams, who played Arya Stark, is switching gears in her new film. “The Owners” takes the home invasion horror genre to a new level as Williams’s character Mary and her friends attempt to rob an elderly couple’s home - only to face their gruesome backlash. “I'm definitely looking for something which is a lot more raw and real,” Williams tells Yahoo Entertainment about the kind of project she considers these days. While she concedes the story of elderly revenge isn’t exactly an everyday occurrence, “it's still hyper real and a lot of horrors and psychological thrillers often are.” “The Owners” is in theaters and on demand on September 4.
