‘Game of Thrones’ Star Emilia Clarke Sings ‘MMMBop’ in Dothraki

The only thing that can make an iconic pop song better is when it’s sung in a made-up language. Actress Emilia Clarke got into a discussion with Seth Meyers on Late Night about Dothraki, the language used by some characters in the Game of Thrones universe. “It’s a language, it’s a full language,” explained Clarke. “David Peterson he wrote it for the TV show. So, it’s won awards and stuff.”

Clarke is given scripts in Dothraki along with MP3 files of her lines, so she has a decent grasp of the language. Which is why she was able to have some fun and serenade her co-star with Hanson’s hit single ‘MMMBop.’ In Dothraki. “So, I thought it would be funny if I did MMMBop in Dothraki,” joked Clarke, who admits to slipping up with the fake vernacular. She proceeded to perform the Dothrakian version of the tune, only to have Meyers say, “I can’t stress how much less catchy that is.”
