‘Game of Thrones’ Recap: A Stark Returns, a Red Wedding Survivor, and a Dragon
Episode 6 of Game of Thrones saw the surprising return of a couple of characters who haven’t been around for a long time. With White Walkers closing in on Bran and Meera, a mysterious man rode in on a horse and started taking out the frigid, undead fighters with a fiery ball and chain. That man turned out to be Bran’s missing Uncle Benjen, who has apparently been fighting White Walkers north of the Wall since the first season, when he disappeared.
Uncle Benjen wasn’t the only Stark family member to make a surprising return. Creepy old man Walder Frey revealed that Catelyn Stark’s brother, Edmure Tully, has been his prisoner since the Red Wedding. Frey plans on using Tully as a bargaining chip to take Riverrun back from Blackfish.
The show ended with the return of another character who everyone has been waiting for: Daenerys’s lost dragon! As the Mother of Dragons was walking with her hoard of Dothraki, she rode off ahead of everyone on her horse and returned flying through the sky on her dragon. Daenerys then made a rousing speech, claiming all of the Dothraki warriors as her blood riders to protect her at all times.
