Happy Galentine’s Day! It’s officially the season of love, and Kerry Washington is giving back the best way she knows how — by sharing her father Earl’s love tips with the world. In an “Earls of Wisdom” video posted to Instagram, Kerry and Earl review his top tips for how to keep the romance alive. It’s impossible not to smile watching this father-daughter duo bantering back and forth, and it’s also just (mostly) great advice. Thanks for sharing, Kerry Washington!

“Happy #ValentineDay!” the Scandal star wrote on Instagram. “Some #EarlsOfWisdom on ROMANCE for VALENTINE’S DAY❤️. (And if you don’t have a siggie, use them to get tips on loving YOURSELF!)”

Washington’s celeb friends, including Little Fires Everywhere co-star Reese Witherspoon, were quick to tune in. “EARLS of Wisdom and LOVE!” Witherspoon wrote. “So great,” Tina Knowles added. The video features Kerry and Earl in heart-shaped glasses — and it includes theme music, a segment on Kerry’s dog, and home-made props.

So, what are Earl’s top tips? First, he says to treat every day like it’s Valentine’s day. “It should be 365 days a year,” he says. “Show your love!” Kerry chimes in. “And show your love,” Earl agrees.

Next up? “It’s the thought that counts.” By this, Earl means that “you don’t have to spend an awful lot of money to tell someone and show someone that you really, really care.” Definitely a message we can get behind!

The next few tips are a little more confusing — “no edibles,” “champagne is a statement,” and “get home early” — but generally, we’re on board for Earl’s wisdom here. Mostly, we want to see a lot more of this father-daughter cuteness on our feed.
