Jun. 17—Twelve-time Grammy award-winning pianist and composer Dave Grusin and legendary jazz guitarist Lee Ritenour have a long history of recording together. But Grusin, who lives in New Mexico, performed live in his home state with Ritenour only once before, back in 2014.

Ritenour, a multi-Grammy-nominated musician, became a session musician in his teens, sitting in with the Mamas and Papas before backing up Tony Bennett and Lena Horne. Grusin, who's worked with Quincy Jones, Barbra Streisand, and James Taylor, composed scores on more than 60 feature films, including The Firm (1993) and Tootsie (1982).

They appear at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 17, at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. Tickets ($39-$65) are available at 505-988-1234 and lensic.org. See a screening of the 2018 documentary, Dave Grusin: Not Enough Time at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, at Albuquerque's Outpost Performance Space.
