Get ready for some serious salon inspo, because Gabrielle Union is showing off her natural curls with a tapered pixie cut — and the entire look is flawless (which, fittingly, is also the name of Union’s haircare line). Union is constantly serving lewks when it comes to hair, from sleek and short to long and wild and everything in between, but this might just be our favorite style the America’s Got Talent judge has sported yet.

Union took to Instagram on Monday to share not one but two glimpses of her new ‘do. In the first, Union flaunts her natural curls in a quick Boomerang video. “Them: Why don’t you ever wear your hair natural?!?! Me: Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy,” Union captioned the vid. In the second post, Union shared a series of four stunning photos highlighting her fierce new cut, simply captioning the portraits, “Me.”

In news that should come as a surprise to no one, fans and Union’s famous friends alike are feeling the look in a big way. Jada Pinkett Smith dropped a string of heart-eyed emojis. Yaya DaCosta commented, “Dayummm shawty!” Regina King gushed that the look was “sooooooo cute!!!” One fan even revealed that Union served as her hair role model, writing, “You’re the reason I cut my hair, and LOVE IT! This look is LIFE.”

This isn’t the first time Union has cut her natural hair dramatically. Last summer, she shared a major hair milestone on Instagram. “1st time I’ve EVER significantly cut my OWN hair in my life and I LOVE IT!!!” she captioned the post of a chic summer bob, courtesy of hairstylist Larry Sims. “Not a wig or a weave… wanted something new and different so I did the damn thing and you can’t tell me nada.”

But it was the year before, in 2017, that Union began opening up about her natural hair to her followers. In March, she shared that she’d been around 25 years old when she stopped using relaxers and slowly grew her natural hair out, calling it “a helluva hair journey.”

That same year, while speaking to WWD, Union admitted that she wasn’t always kind to her natural hair — and she suffered serious repercussions for it. “I went through a phase where I would leave my relaxer on so long, thinking the longer I leave this relaxer on, the straighter it’s going to be. Cut to lesions, like open wounds in my scalp, trying to chase something that was unrealistic, and eventually probably in my mid- to late-20s I decided to give up my relaxer, and I went natural,” she said.

Now, it’s clear that Union fully embraces the beauty of her natural hair. So, while we can’t wait to see what look she’ll serve next, we hope she keeps this one around for a while.
