A source tells ET that both judges will not return for the 2020 season. Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel and Terry Crews are all expected to come back to the series. Union and Hough had replaced Melanie Brown and Heidi Klum for AGT's season 14. Judges are often cycled out and later return, per Variety who first to report the news.
ET caught up with Cowell after the AGT finale in September, where he revealed what the chances were of Union and Hough returning as judges.
"I don't make those decisions," Cowell said. "Everyone thinks I am [the boss and makes those decisions]. Yeah, I think they did a really good job. Importantly, it's who we ended up with, is always a reflection on who's on the panel. They did a great job."
Union also told ET that she "didn't know" if she would return. "There's a lot of amazing things happening, but I love this show. I love the opportunity of being a part of peoples' dreams coming true. I'm on the talent side, where I get rejected every day, and it was nice to really, kind of, go a little deeper with each contestant and really be a part of their dream," she said, adding, "Hopefully they'll have me back."
As for Hough, she was also hoping to return, telling ET, "I hope so. I haven't heard anything. I would totally be down. This was truly, it changed my life in a sense that I got to really take in every moment of gratitude and it's bigger than me."
Meanwhile, Klum is set to return for the second season of America's Got Talent: The Champions, after stepping down from the main series last year.
