Fan-favorite singer Gabriel Henrique from Brazil returned to the “America’s Got Talent” stage on the September 19 episode for the first time since receiving Sofia Vergara‘s Golden Buzzer. This time around, he surprised audiences with his song choice of “Something Beautiful” by Jacob Banks, and Sofia declared him to be nothing less than “perfection” and “an angel.” In fact, all four of the judges were up on their feet and had only positive comments for the powerhouse singer. Sofia Vergara: “I don’t even have anything to say. It was perfection. It was just like an angel. I mean, you are definitely a star. It was beautiful. I think people are gonna vote for you because, I mean, I still have goosebumps.”
Simon Cowell: “You could have sung something more obvious. The fact that you sang this song — I know the original, the Jacob Banks song, it is one of my favorite songs — you absolutely nailed it. It was way better in my opinion than your first audition. So I think you’ve just maybe booked yourself a spot in the final.”
Heidi Klum: “You have an unbelievable talent, especially from the second part of the song. You really showed what sets you apart from the other singers, I feel like. You busted out some tunes that are inhuman. It was incredible what we just heard — incredible.”
Howie Mandel: “When you first started, I was concerned because I didn’t know that this was the right choice. But it turns out, once you hit that note, that’s what makes you stand out. That’s why people are gonna remember you. That’s why I believe you’re gonna be one of the two votes that move on to the next level of this competition.”

Competing against Gabriel during the “Qualifiers 5” round were these 10 contestants: chorale group 82nd Airborne Chorus, dance group Avantgardey, mariachi singer Eduardo Antonio Trevino, dancer Eseniia Mikheeva, hula hoop artist/aerialist Grace Good, singer Lachune, comic magician Mandy Muden, acrobatic duo Ramadhani Brothers, magician Sangsoon Kim and singing guitarist duo Trailer Flowers.
Remember, only two of the 11 acts will make it through to the grand finale based on America’s overnight votes. Will Gabriel be one of them?
Back in his “AGT” audition, Gabriel belted out “Run to You” and the judges compared him to superstars like Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. When it was Sofia’s turn to speak, she admitted that she didn’t have the words to describe her reaction, only that as judges they’re always “waiting for that feeling.” She then slammed her hand down on the Golden Buzzer, sending Gabriel straight through to the live shows.
