Gabourey Sidibe Announces Pregnancy, Expecting Twins

Gabourey Sidibe is expecting! The actress revealed she and her husband, Brandon Frankel, are parents-to-be in a new social media upload.

Sharing a carousel of photos to Instagram on Tuesday (Feb. 27) the 40-year-old announced that her household will soon double with the addition of twins. In the first slide, she and Frankel pose with their hands caressing her midsection and leaning toward one another at Babylist. Additional shots include the couple pushing strollers, and a solo photo of Sidibe proudly embracing her bump.

“I’m pregnant!” exclaimed the Precious star.

The caption continued, “We thought it was time to give our cats some responsibility so we’re giving them each a baby to take care of! Double the babies, double the cats, double the fun!! Twin Delivery coming soon! Twinty Twinty Four!!”

Stars including Kid Fury, Teyonah Parris, Amber P. Riley, Erika Alexander, Ava DuVernay, Octavia Spencer, and more flocked to the comment section with congratulatory messages.

In December 2022, Sidibe revealed she and Frankel tied the knot in March 2021 after a four-month engagement. The couple opted out of a lavish ceremony for an in-house recognition of their love.

“The thing about weddings is I don’t like them,” she said. “I don’t like them really — here’s an example of how much I don’t like weddings: I’m actually married. We got married over a year ago,” explained the Phone Sex creator. “We got married at the kitchen table, it was just us. We got engaged in 2020, we got married like four months later.”
