Fuse Announces New Programs in Development: Vans Warped Tour Roadies, ’80s College Radio, Bounce and More

Programs about roadies on the Vans Warped Tour, practitioners of the New Orleans musical style called bounce and exceedingly devoted rock ‘n’ roll fans are being developed by Fuse, the network announced today.

This year’s slate is the largest in Fuse’s history, according to Brad Schwartz, Fuse’s senior vice president of programming and operations. Fuse’s current signature programming is “Hoppus on Music,” “On the Record” and the live concert series “Fuse Presents.”

Programs in development are:

“Ambassadors of Rock.” A reality show concentrating on devoted music fans who invite touring bands that they don’t know to crash in their homes. L7 founder Donita Sparks is executive-producing with Robert Fagan of 2 Way Mirror and Bobby Pura (“Jackass: The Movie”).

“Blaze Studios.” Marcus Paulk (“Redtails”) and Quinton Aaron (“The Blind Side”) star in this half-hour scripted musical comedy centered on a high-end recording studio.

“Bounce.” A documentary takes looks at the hip-hop sub-genre bounce, focusing on the stars of the New Orleans scene.

“[Untitled Eric Balfour Project]” A mockumentary series created by and starring Eric Balfour (“Six Feet Under,” “24”) focuses on a young band in Los Angeles.

“Major.” A musical duo tries to capitalize on its viral success in a half-hour scripted musical comedy. Executive producer Troy Miller developed the project and will also direct.

“Off Beat.” Comedian Mike E. Winfield (“The Office”) hosts a clip show featuring funny and outrageous music-themed videos.

“Radio Free.” Michael Stipe is among the executive producers of this half-hour scripted comedy about students at a college radio station in the early 1980s. Written and executive produced by Gerald Cuesta and Michael Cuesta (“Homeland,” “Dexter,” “True Blood”).

“Warped Roadies.” A behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the Vans Warped Tour produced by Magilla Entertainment (“Bayou Billionaires,” “Moonshiners”, “Long Island Medium”).
