Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga gets its first audience in just a few weeks at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, where it will screen among some of the year's most anticipated releases, such as Francis Ford Coppola's passion project Megalopolis and Yorgos Lanthimos' Kinds of Kindness.

The film will serve as the origin story for Charlize Theron's character from Mad Max: Fury Road, with Anya Taylor-Joy leading the charge as a young Furiosa.

Mad Max: Fury Road was a hit among critics and audiences when it was released in 2015, scoring a Certified Fresh rating of 97% on the review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes. The film also went on to win six of the ten Academy Awards it was nominated for, so the announcement that another story in this world would hit the big screen was met with great anticipation by audiences keen to know what would happen next. Or should we say before?

A new interview in Total Film has producer Doug Mitchell spilling some of the secrets from set, including the details on "one 15-minute sequence which took [them] 78 days to shoot".

GamesRadar shares that almost 200 stunt workers were part of the sequence, with Taylor-Joy revealing that "It's the longest sequence any of us have ever shot. On the day we finished, everybody got a 'Stairway To Nowhere' wine!"

Following its Cannes premiere, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga hits theaters on May 24. It stars Anya Taylor-Joy alongside Chris Hemsworth, Angus Sampson, Charlee Fraser, Tom Burke and Nathan Jones.
