The 'Fuller House' Cast Vows They Will ‘Stick Together Through the Hard Times’

Saturday’s 2019 Kids’ Choice Awards turned out to be a light-hearted, star-studded good time. But one particular moment in the festive affair had a serious undertone. Accepting the award for Favorite Funny TV Show, the Fuller House cast may have subtly referenced Lori Loughlin amid the star’s college admission bribery scandal. Although Loughlin (who plays “Aunt Becky” on the show) wasn’t mentioned by name, her co-stars Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber certainly seemed to be offering their support via a sentimental acceptance speech.

The three women — who play D.J. Tanner, Stephanie Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler, respectively — approached the podium together and took turns speaking. “You have been laughing alongside our family for four seasons and this family has a lot of heart,” Barber started. “And where there’s a lot of heart, there’s a lot of love,” chimed in Cameron Bure, continuing, “And a loving family sticks together no matter what. They stick together through the hard times, they support each other, they encourage one another, they pray for each other and they stand by their side no matter how tough it gets. And a loving family that sticks together, also celebrates the really good times.” Sweetin wrapped up the speech, saying, “This is one of those good times. You’ve stuck with us for 30 years and we love you all so much. We promise the fifth and final season is gonna be amazing.”

Since news broke of Loughlin’s involvement (and subsequent arrest) in the shocking college admissions scandal, she has been laying low. Accordingly, she was not in attendance at the Kids’ Choice Awards. Also, she is not expected to return to her recurring guest star role as the beloved Aunt Becky for Fuller House’s final season — getting cut from the nostalgic show and other projects proved to be part of the fallout from her indictment in the scam naming nearly 50 people. Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, have been charged with paying $500,000 in bribes to get their daughters Isabella, 20, and Olivia Jade, 19, into the University of Southern California.

While Loughlin was originally scheduled to appear in federal court for the charges on March 29, a judge agreed Thursday to move their initial appearance to April 3. Per AP News, Loughlin and Giannulli’s legal team requested the delay due to scheduling conflicts. As of now, Loughlin has yet to make any public comment on the scandal or her alleged involvement.
