Thursday

Wesselman Woods Free Week

Aug. 24-30, Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve, 551 N. Boeke Road. Free.

Wesselman Woods is hosting a free admission week in honor of the new ADA-accessible mini-loop trail.

River Valley Cluster AKC All Breed Dog Show

Aug. 24-27, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Owensboro Convention Center, 501 W Second St, Owensboro, Kentucly. General admission is $5, and children under 12 or seniors 60 and over are $3.

This family-friendly event will allow spectators to view grooming, conditioning, and judging of the four-day competition that features more than 3,600 dogs competing.

Music in the Park

6 to 8 p.m., Vann Park, Free.

Bring your picnic blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy live music by Nick Hamilton. Food trucks also will be on-site and the pool will be open for late-night swimming.

6:35 p.m., Bosse Field, 23 Don Mattingly Way in Evansville. Tickets range from $6 to $12

Join the Evansville Otters as they take on the Joliet Slammers for College Night where all college students, faculty and alumni are encouraged to come out and show their school spirit.

48th Annual Frog Follies

Friday through Sunday; 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. for vendors,  8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday for guests at the Vanderburgh County 4-H Center. Admission is $7, and free for kids 12 and under

The E'ville Iron Street Rod Club is hosting Frog Follies, a gathering of classic street rods that draws thousands of people to the 4-H Fairgrounds every year. Attendees can enjoy games, activities and dances all weekend while enjoying the vintage street rods. In conjunction with the rod run, there is a craft show and automotive swap meet. There will be plenty of spaces for rods and vendors selling new parts for building a new rod, or collectibles and rusty parts for those with an appetite for automobilia.

Spring Wine Walk

5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Main Street in Evansville. Attendees must be 21 or older. Pre-sale tickets are $15. At the event, tickets cost $25.

Sip and stroll down Main Street while enjoying wine from Oliver Winery, entertainment from local musicians and more. Tickets include samples and a commemorative tumbler.

Franklin Street Bazaar

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. along West Franklin Street. Free. 

Every Saturday on the lawn of the West Branch Library, hundreds of vendors from local farmers and producers to bakers to artists and craftsmen have pop-up shops for visitors to discover local products.

Evansville Farmers Market

10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Washington Square Mall. Free.

Shop from local vendors, food trucks and join the fun for First Responders Appreciation Day.

2023 Evansville Museum Geek & Comic Con

11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for kids, and free for museum members.

This annual, family-friendly event is devoted to celebrating the arts, science and history of geek culture. The convention will feature panels, presentations, hands-on activities, board games, a vendor room, a cosplay contest.

Dinner on the Bridge

7 p.m., Old National Events Plaza, 715 Locust St. in Evansville. Tickets are $99.

The Summer Wine Series presents a foodie experience with a four-course meal prepared by Old National Events Plaza Executive Chef Noel Bilbro and a wine selection from Oliver Winery. There will also be live music amid the Downtown scene from the skybridge over Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Public Star Watch

8 p.m., Evansville Museum of Arts, History, & Science, 411 SE Riverside Dr, Free

Bring your own telescope or use one provided by the Astro Society Members at the plaza by the museum where you'll be able to look at the first quarter moon and perhaps Saturn.
