This fantasy adventure anime is based on the namesake manga series written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. The plot follows the elven mage Frieren. Decades earlier, she was a member of the adventuring party that defeated the Demon King and brought peace back to the world. As her former comrades start dying because they are humans and have a significantly shorter lifespan than her, a grieving Frieren decides to embark on a new journey to learn about humanity.
