Friends of the Raclin Murphy Museum board president addresses Art League luncheon

SOUTH BEND — The Art League holds its next luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 19 at Four Winds Casino, 3000 Prairie Ave.

Amy Tyler, president of the board of the Friends of the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art, will share behind the scenes information about the new museum, which is scheduled to open Nov. 30 on campus of the University of Notre Dame.

This will include details about some of the programs that The Friends sponsor for the museum, such as High School Art Day, art and architecture tours, family nights/days, and K-12 programming.

The Raclin Murphy Museum of Art has been designed as a 132,000-square-foot complex to be constructed in two phases. The scale resulted from meticulously studying the Snite Museum’s collections and exhibition requirements to showcase its holdings.

The Art League is an auxiliary body of the South Bend Museum of Art.
