I’ll be there for you…as long as you pay me millions of dollars. The Friends cast is humming a new tune these days as a new report indicates each star will be paid over $2 million to appear in the rumored reunion episode planned for HBO Max. In fact, other reports placed the number closer to $3 million or $4 million, so if anything, this guess is conservative. Must be nice to have starred in one of the most popular TV shows of all time!

According to Deadline, all six Friends stars — Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer — have all come to preliminary agreements with Warner Bros. to film an hourlong special. The total budget for talent is reportedly around $20 million, and these six stars will certainly be taking most of that home.

The Wall Street Journal narrowed cast salaries down even further, reporting that their salaries would be between $2.25 million and $2.5 million each. And to be fair, HBO Max owes much of the buzz surrounding its 2020 launch to the fact that it purchased the full Friends library from Netflix (for a staggering $425 million). Clearly, these stars are key to HBO Max’s appeal — and exclusively streaming a new reunion episode could be huge for the service.

Rumors of this reunion have been floated these past few weeks, egged on by a February tweet from Perry (who, by the way, just joined Instagram): “Big news coming…” he wrote, launching an internet-wide freakout about what he could possibly mean.

While details of the reunion are still forthcoming (and it sounds like the deal isn’t yet final final), but we’re still not over what a huge check each of these stars will take home if it goes through. Could they be making any more money?
