Fresno to get its own official Monopoly board game

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The City of Fresno will become the latest city to be memorialized in its own official version of the popular board game Monopoly.

The announcement on Tuesday revealed that the first Hasbro-official version of the game will feature Fresno’s landmarks, restaurants, and cultural staples.

The board game’s producers say the input from Fresno residents is vital to ensure that every part of the city is represented on the board, as well as on the chance and community chest cards.

“We are excited to welcome Mr. Monopoly and celebrate the announcement of Fresno’s very own MONOPOLY board,” said Fresno’s Mayor Jerry Dyer. “This initiative is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the vibrant culture and significant landmarks of our city. It’s also another opportunity for us to come together, as One Fresno, and share what makes our community special.”

Fresno residents have been asked to submit suggestions on which locations should make the cut and feature on Fresno’s Monopoly board by emailing Fresno@TopTrumps.com. The physical board game is set to be produced and made available by November 2024.
