‘Fresh Off the Boat’ Sneak Peek: Eddie Shops for Dress Pants — Or Is It Pant Dresses?

What do you do when your dad is named “Small Businessman of the Year?” If you’re Eddie Huang, you hit the mall to shop for some ridiculously big pants to wear to his awards ceremony.

In this exclusive sneak peek from the Fresh Off the Boat episode, “The Best of Orlando,” Louis (Randall Park) and his sons Eddie and Emery (Hudson Yang, Forrest Wheeler) go on a shopping spree in search of suitable dress pants to wear to Louis’s awards gala. But things take an unexpected turn when Eddie spots a display featuring the motherlode of 1990s men’s pants: JNCOs.

In case you’re having a brain fog (or want to forget the ‘90s altogether), the ultra wide-leg jeans with extra-large, embellished back pockets were favorites in the hip-hop, hardcore, and skater set until every schoolboy ruined it for them by making the obscenely baggy pants mainstream.

Of course, while the $80 JNCO price tag is out of Eddie’s reach, the cost has nothing to do with it because his dad isn’t down with the giant jeans, anyway. “We’re here for dress pants, not pant dresses,” Louis says.

Fresh Off the Boat airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
